MIA

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm not abandoning my blog, I'm just on fall break and sadly separated from the pony until Sunday at the earliest :( On the bright side, I am in Florida and it's a lovely 85 degrees here and sunny! I haven't heard any Limerick news other than he kicked his pasture mate in the neck on Tuesday and caused a pretty severe injury and a lot of bleeding from what I was told on the phone. It was pretty scary sounding, and I felt awful because he's new to the farm and I don't want them to think that this is normal behavior for him... he's never displayed any serious aggression that I've witnessed or heard of.

Beach :)

  1. Uh oh! I am a huge individual turnout person for that reason. My old horse Huck, who I had told the barn manager was food aggressive, took a good sized chunk out of his pasturemates butt when the worker forgot to take him to his stall...

    1. haha that is unfortunate! I honestly think Limerick would be depressed without a buddy... he gets attached and feels much more safe/secure when he has a good friend. I think these two just weren't meant to be :( Needless to say, he is currently out in "solitary" until another one of my good friends moves to my farm, bc her horse gets along really well with Lim

  2. Very odd behavior for Lim. Luckily he will be reunited with his buddy from ML soon :)
Wish I was in FL too!

  3. I <3 solo turnout. Horses will be horses and it's just plain risky. I do like smaller turnouts where the horses can be next to each other, though.

    1. yeah I might eventually consider that for Limerick... he has a tendency to do stupid things when he's out with other horses, like throw shoes left and right and lose large patches of hair =|
