Call me K. I'm a college student who, oddly enough, got back into riding shortly after starting my freshman year, when most people typically give up horses. It hasn't been easy, and it's all a very long story that will best be told over time, but I'll start off with a few basics. One, my horse's name is Limerick and he's a liver chestnut Irish Sport Horse. He's seven years old and I've had him since early August of this year, so about a month and a half. So far, it's been great, but not without some rough patches. He's one of the sweetest and most willing horses I've ever met, and I already know that we're going to be great together. He has his silly moments and sometimes I want to kill him, but at the same time, I don't know what I'd do without him. Enough talking, here's some pictures that will hopefully help tell our story:

Getting checked out by a vet at our PPE

His crescent moon-shaped marking might be my favorite part about his face

Lim being super cute as an event pony with his old owner

He doesn't actually like dogs, he just thinks he does...
Yes!!! Finally. Now the K I have been referring to tons lately in my blog has a blogging identity! And nice cover picture... Wonder who took that bad boy... :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool... now we can text, FB message, and comment on each others blogs simultaneously! JK, that would be crazy :) I'll officially state here that most photo credits go to Hillary H. from Equestrian at Hart. It's a great picture and looked good as a header!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the blog world... you should add a follow button so I can add you to my google reader :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I just added a follow by email button... is there more than one type of follow button?
ReplyDeleteI personally don't follow blogs via email, I just use my Google Blog Roll thingy, and I think a lot of people use the same function. I'll look at what it's call and report back.

Haha thank you, he's a goober! Also, thanks for the blogger help, I'm still trying to figure everything out!
ReplyDeleteNo worries, I'm super new too. And just now starting to blog somewhat consistently, even though most of my posts are ramblings about how I should be riding my mare. ;)
DeleteLooking forward to reading your blog!
ReplyDeletethanks Dom, I love your blog and totally admire your methods! Plus I really want a dog like Herbie someday, she's adorable :)
DeleteWelcome! Looking forward to reading more :)
ReplyDeletethank you!
DeleteHope you don't mind my nosying, followed a link from L's page @ Viva Carlos. being Irish myself my eye was drawn to your blog name and then when I read on and found out about Limerick I had to read more!
ReplyDeleteLimerick is where I went to University in Ireland and I also own an Irish Sport Horse. I too bought her when I was at Uni and then moved her from Ireland to Luxembourg (Mainland Europe) when i got a job out here.
Can you tell me more about your boy please?
I am particularly nosy about bloodlines! :p As unlike the majority of horses out here - his might actually mean something to me seeing as he's from the same country as I am!
Looking forward to getting all caught up with your blogging, seeing all the lovely pictures of the handsome lad and reading all about your adventures!
Sorry, I just saw this! I have an "About Limerick" page, though I don't have much info about his bloodlines... I know that his Grand Sire was Kildalton Gold. I'll check his papers soon and try to get more info for you!
