In other news, I talked to my trainer today about her ride on Limerick yesterday, and she said he was fabulous and that she noticed a big improvement in terms of his attitude and level of stiffness. Thank god for the chiro! However, I'm having a lot of problems with her lately in terms of canceling my lessons. Over the summer, I started taking two lessons a week at my home barn and wanted to continue that here. She agreed and we made a schedule, but the last three weeks in a row she's cancelled both lessons and I'm getting kind of desperate for help. I am not at all at the level that I can go a month without any help, and I'm currently searching for other instructors in my area that I can potentially lesson with. I love her as a person, but she is just not reliable enough for me right now! She's also coincidentally never there when I need her and won't respond to text messages on weekends... I'm seriously considering switching to another boarding facility that doesn't have an indoor, but I don't know how I would live without one to ride in on days like these. Do your boarding facilities have indoor arenas? If not, how do you deal? Winter/cold don't bother me that much, but sometimes we have weeks on end of rain, and I can't just stop riding when that happens. Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated :) I'll update tomorrow about my ride this afternoon and my SADDLE FITTING!!!!
| The day I got him :) |
I need an indoor since most of the winter I ride at night.
ReplyDeletethat's very true, I sometimes ride at night... plus it gets dark at 5ish, and I'm almost always at the farm until then, if not after!
DeleteWe board where there is an indoor - I much prefer the outdoor arena but Indiana weather forces me inside in the winter. Looking forward to hearing how your saddle fitting appt went!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the outdoor too, but I live in Kentucky and I think the weather is just too unpredictable to not have the option of an indoor :(
DeleteNo indoor here, and I bet I'm the one who needs it the most, haha. Mexi will probably get Jan/Feb - April off other than fun hacks because of the cold/snow.
ReplyDeleteDo you live somewhere that gets a lot of snow? I wish we got more here bc I really want to ride in it, but it usually rains more in the winter than it snows...
DeleteLove that picture :) HiddenBridge!!! Just come back... Problem solved. Houston and Lim can share Fuzzy (buzz) and we can go on long hacks into the sunset... Haha in case you can't tell that I miss my best barn bud! TG you might be back for December!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you to have your fitting tomorrow. Lim will be like a new horse :)
In all seriousness I think that we are very similar in that we need consistent help. If you are having a tough time getting that the fact that there is an indoor might be a moot point. What are your friends that ride at the other farm going to do without an indoor?
I really want to :( Is it sad that I actually considered switching to Bellarmine? I think that means that I miss you too, and Hidden Bridge (like a lot..)!
DeleteWe're freakishly similar in lots of ways, but definitely that one. I'll talk to the girls that board there and see what they think, because both of them chose that farm over Meadow Lake, which is definitely interesting
Love the new cooler! It looks great on him! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, it's pretty awesome :)!
