Better.
Limerick was luckily much better (in comparison) on Monday! He was lazy and pulling the bejeezus out of my arms on downward transitions, but he wasn't hot and definitely didn't have rocket boosters. We did some transition work and some no stirrup posting and sitting trot, which my legs still hurt from! Then Kimmie came up to the ring and recorded some of the ride :) The first canter video (video #3) is wild and a little bit strung out, but please don't judge because I seriously felt like my arms were being ripped out and he was totally saying F**K you to the three-ring... Luckily, I was able to hold him together much better for the second canter video (#4) and kind of keep him packaged.

Do you have your stirrups set to their jumping length? They look super short... you might have an easier time sitting deep and getting control of your giant pony if you lengthen them a bit for flat work.
ReplyDeleteThat's what Hillary said too! They don't feel that short to me, but it's quite possible that I never put them down after my last jumping lesson and have just gotten used to that length... I'll try making them longer today!
DeleteI second (or third) that your sirups looks super short... do they hit your ankle bone or right below it?
ReplyDeleteLimers looks like he has a BIG stride! Ground covering for sure!
He's so cute! Glad he was better for you! :)
Yep, they were... I fixed it!
DeleteHe does, and it's not the most adjustable thing ever, but we're working on it!
Thank you so much, Henry is adorable as well :)
